Thanks, Elise!

Yes, I'm sure the local skunks, bull snakes, and stray dogs would just LOVE a kitty door into our kitchen!

However, since this writing, I have trained the dog to come when called (most of the time), leave the cats alone (occasionally), and stay in the yard (almost always). Spiritual greatness awaits.

Let's all get together for a play date soon. Door. ;) Although I suppose that may let in any old unsavory creature from the wilds outside your unfenced land, yes?
Honestly, though, I laughed my whole way through this post. Especially at the beginning when you described the hymn writers and their impossibly idealistic but lovely nature descriptions... oh, goodness. Loud belly laugh.
This is pretty much like my Quiet Time in the morning, only in my story, children are playing the parts of the animals and I purpose at the end of each session to work diligently on training them one and all to sit quietly while I commune with the Saviour. And then promptly forget in the mad dash for eggs and toast and dry diapers and Morning Song Playlist that is loud enough to send rhythmic ripples through my perfectly taupe but cold coffee. The End.
You're an awesome writer, dude. Thanks for the peek at your morning time, and of course the laughter which is my very favorite.
